What the peptide is.

Methylene blue (methylthioninium chloride) is one of the oldest synthetic dyes, first synthesised in 1876. Clinically approved for methemoglobinemia (IV administration) but widely used as a research reagent in cellular biology, mitochondrial-function studies, and neuroprotection research.

Omega Grade supplies a 30% w/v aqueous research-grade solution. Not the pharmaceutical-grade IV formulation.

Proposed mechanism

Electron-cycling between oxidised (MB) and reduced (leucoMB) forms. Mitochondrial complex IV alternate electron acceptor; ROS-scavenging activity; NO-synthase inhibition.
