DSIP 15 mg
Nonapeptide isolated from cerebral venous blood.
DSIP was isolated from the cerebral venous blood of sleeping rabbits in the 1970s by the Monnier / Schoenenberger group. One of the earliest discovered neuroactive peptides.
What the peptide is.
DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nonapeptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during electrically induced delta sleep. Despite the name, its role in sleep regulation has not been consistently replicated and its mechanism of action remains incompletely characterised.
Used predominantly in preclinical neurophysiology research.
Not fully characterised. Proposed effects on HPA-axis modulation, antinociception, and delta-wave EEG activity.
