COA (Certificate of Analysis)

Document showing the analytical results — typically purity, mass, and identity — for a specific batch of research peptide.

A certificate of analysis (COA) documents the analytical results for a specific batch of a chemical compound. For research peptides, a COA typically includes: HPLC purity percentage with the trace, mass spectrometry showing the expected molecular weight, identity confirmation, batch number, manufacture date, expiration date, and the certifying lab's signature. A COA is the buyer's primary evidence that the material is what the seller claims it is. Reputable research-supply vendors provide a COA with every order or make them downloadable from the product page.
